3 Days of Serenity (by Alicia B.)
What an incredible space, from the fully furnished kitchen to the magnificant views. We never tired of looking out at the expansive Lake Pend Oreille either from the breakfast nook or from the hot tub, or just from the bed. We actually watched a golden eagle have a morning bath in the lake. The very well stocked kitchen made cooking meals together a fun event. There is even a burr coffee grinder! Top Shelf. Every effort seems to have been made to make your vacation steps above the ordinary. Even though the lights of Sandpoint beckoned us from across the lake and the much recommended pizza joint was just minutes away, our vehicle never left the drive way once we arrived. Would we come back? YES!

Connect with your lover (by R and K)
Well deserving of it's Lover's Getaway moniker, this retreat was wonderful. We were treated to a kaleidoscope of views, with the lake and mountains as a backdrop. The layout is perfect for lovers to connect, with the location offering the optionality of exploring and hiking and a communion with nature. We will return R and K
Owner's Response: You came as guests and will return as friends. May the peace and awe of the Lover's Getaway sustain you till your next visit. Jnell, Jack and Ginny

Wonderful! Marvelous! (by Daisygirl?)
The most awesome cabin experience in my lifetime. Words cannot describe the beauty and warmth of this magical escape. We decided to extend our stay! We literally did not want to leave. The hospitality can match any 5 star hotel and Ginny is a treasure trove of information. Do yourself a favor and book this cabin! You will be happy that you did.
Owner's Response: Well, dear one, we thank you for your gracious review. Winter season is our personal favorite as it's a quiet time on the mountain but the views are oh so active between the eagles, animals and sunsets. We look forward to your return. Till we meet again, Jnell, Jack and Ginny

The hospitality is amazing. (by A K.)
We arrived Friday night in the dark. When we arrived in the home we were welcomed to a warm fire and beautiful fall decor. On the counter was a lovely note explaining a few things and a number to get a virtual tour from Ginny. The hospitality that comes with this stay is hard to beat! Chilled wine and glasses in the refrigerator to frosted mugs in the freezer. It gave us the time away from the hustle and bustle of our life and a chance to remember "us". Sure you can find other places but none come with the essence of love this home provides. Thanks for the time!
Owner's Response: Thank you for your gracious review. We were honored you choose our place to spend a special occasion. Our aim is for you feel indulged, pampered and reconnected. So glad you felt all of that!

Loved our stay. We'll be back! (by Karen S.)
This home is astounding! The open floor plan and the view make it a place to come back to! In the morning it feels like you are waking up in a tree house surrounded by nature and a spectacular view of the lake. The kitchen is well stocked making it easy to prepare meals. Trust me, you will want to do this as you won't want to leave. You can hike part or all the way up the mountain and then relax on the expansive deck, followed by a hot tub. This is a retreat for both the body and the soul :-) Loved our stay. Thank you!

Wonderful Retreat (by Melody W.)
Yes there are trains....everywhere in the Sandpoint area...it does add to the charm after you get over the fright of them in the wee hours! LOL that was hilarious on our first night! The home is well equipped and certainly as others have commented the pictures are not accurate as you must experience it, you cannot possibly capture the beauty, serenity or experience in a photograph. We were not disappointed with the home, the Garden of Eagen, the lake views which we said goodnight and good morning too. Thoughtful touches abounded during our stay from a stocked pantry and spice drawer(s), to fresh flowers, binoculars, hot tub, gas out door fireplace, robes, chilled wine on our arrival and the list goes on. Worth noting is how wonderful the bed is, it certainly made for a great week having a good quality bed to sleep on! The area has endless beauty, and so under populated! Trails were never crowded. The lake was beautiful, the hikes beautiful. Our fur babies were able to join us and they enjoyed sunning themselves on the deck or watching the lake/birds and of course alerting us to the pika's or squirrels! We relaxed as we have never done before. Certainly the information book is bang on! The Ice House pizza is some of the best pizza we have had! The pantry is Clark Fork was divine! The people everywhere were so friendly. Oh and for this who have dogs, the dog park in Ponderay is simply refreshing as a place for a safe run! Not to mention in Sandpoint the Dog Park Beach - how amazing for a community to embrace the four legged family members! We loved it all. thank you to Ginny for being so well informed and thorough on our arrival. thank you to Jack and J'nell for sharing your little oasis with our family! xoxoxo
Owner's Response: Thank you Melody for your gracious review and for mentioning the trains. We don't want there to be any surprises - except for the good ones! So glad you discovered the dog friendly areas. Being able to have our fur children accompany us on a vacation is a necessity for some of us. Here's looking forward to seeing you all next year. Honeymoon Haven! (by Jeanelle S.)
My husband and I spent our honeymoon here at the Lover's Getaway. It was everything I could have hoped for. The view is amazing, the home so cozy. We spent most of our time cooking and hanging out on the deck. We were lucky enough to watch some lightening storms 2 nights in a row. What a show! Also loved the show the birds put on. The park down the road was just right for a swim. This was the perfect place for our honeymoon. We didn't want to go home. We plan on being back next year.

Heaven on Earth! (by Teresa S.)
We have given ourselves the gift of this getaway 4 times and just scheduled our 5th. Every year we plan a week to lose ourselves in the beauty, scenery, and the surroundings of this magical place. The "cabin" is not really a "cabin", but a luxuriously peaceful space and our home away from home. We only gave it 5 stars because they don't list 6 as an option. We so look forward to our next visit... Teresa and Mark W.
Owner's Response: And we love having you! So glad you've made the Lover's Getaway your retreat.

Excellent but be aware! (by Keith P.)
Awesome views and well equipped rental but.... The property is as advertised and as good as all of the reviews, however, what is not being mentioned are several aspects that all should be aware of before booking. The alleged wifi does not actually exist. We were not informed until a couple of weeks before we arrived that "...Your smart phone will work fine, however the wireless is sketchy. There are two places near by to connect up if really needed...." Too late to cancel without losing deposit, too late to make other arrangements. We were in the middle of a 5 month road trip and private e-mail was very important to us, for banking arrangements and also Skyping family back home! The only available wifi appears to be the password for the neighbor's router! The other major issue not mentioned until you arrive is the fact that your are about 250 ft away from the main road and the railway line. Yes you hear constant traffic particularly big trucks slowing down. But the real stars of the whole show are the coal trains clattering through and honking their warning horns. This may be quite cute and endearing but not a dozen times a day and the favourite was the ones at 3 am followed by another at 4 am. The owners have considered this and supply ear plugs for just such an occasion. Great house but people should have this information so that they can make a judgement before booking! Very disappointing.
Owner's Response: Dear Keith, We're so sorry to hear now of your need for 24 hour wifi. Had you mentioned it to Ginny we would have supplied you with a wifi card. Smartphones and FaceTime do always operate here. You are the first to mention the trains and highway construction as distracting thus we appreciate it being brought to attention. Despite your "very disappointing" experience we appreciate your validating that the property is as advertised and that all the other 5 star reviews are correct and valid. Thank you for your four star review. Jack and Jnell

Where Goddess meets Cowboy (by Mr. & Mrs. Smith)
Oh my. I love to write and can usually find a way to express myself, but stepping into the garden of this hillside roost gave me pause, let alone when my husband and I stepped through the front door of this soulful retreat. We're an active couple and had ridden our motorcycles from Colorado, with the intention of doing several rides in the local area of Sand Point during our stay. Somehow we tore ourselves away from the breathtaking lake view and the aviation entertainment of the feathered kind on day one, and enjoyed a wonderful local day ride in and out of gorgeous scenery and nature's offerings, but thereafter, the magnetic attraction of this love nest was too strong to leave, save for the Ice House Pizza and Laughing Dog brewery! We arrived exhausted and overstimulated and over the course of our stay, we remembered how to sit still again, and appreciate the small moments. You will be transfixed and mesmerized here, no matter what vantage point you choose. Try them all. You'll not be disappointed. Thank you for such a lovely and welcome retreat. Oh...and the creative and whimsical decor? The title says it best. Enjoy. p.s. Ginny is a GEM!
